Tara Doherty BA

Tara Doherty is a member of the Class of 2022 at University of California, Davis, and graduated from Boston University in 2018. She is currently the secretary of the UC Davis Equine Medicine Club and AAEP Student Chapter. She has been consistently involved in search and rescue and sheltering work related to California wildfires for the UCD Student Veterinary Emergency Response Team and NCAEP. As a veterinary student, she has been immensely influenced by Dr. Susan Stover’s mentorship, who has allowed her to explore her research interests and passion for injury prevention in Thoroughbred racehorses. After graduation, Tara aspires to practice primarily on performance horses, and ultimately, may pursue a residency in surgery or sports medicine and rehabilitation to follow her passion for research and injury prevention in equine athletes.
