The Convention begins Tuesday, December 1 with on-demand (recorded) educational sessions and live Table Topics. Several featured educational sessions will be presented live during Convention Prime Time, which takes place December 5–9. The complete schedule of sessions and events can be viewed prior to the Convention’s start at convention.aaep.org or by downloading the AAEP Convention app – AAEP Education – in your app store.

Following is an overview of the 2020 schedule:
• Beginning Tuesday, December 1: Access to On-Demand Sessions
• Tuesday, December 1 – Friday, December 18: Live Table Topics via Zoom – 2 per day, Monday - Friday
• Saturday, December 5 – Wednesday, December 9: Convention Prime Time, featuring sessions such as the Kester News Hour and
the Milne State-of-the-Art Lecture. Trade Show hours for exhibitor chats and product demonstrations will take place during
Prime Time, as well as social events and alumni receptions.

The AAEP is using a virtual event online service called Digitell to host all sessions of the 2020 Virtual Convention & Trade Show. On Monday, November 30, you will receive an email from AAEP Support ({{$platformInstance.support.email}}) with the link for accessing all convention sessions, along with instructions for logging in.

You will need a computer and Internet connection. A desktop or laptop computer is preferred but all sessions can also be viewed on a tablet or other mobile device. If you wish to interact during Table Topics, social events, etc., you will need a working microphone on your computer or mobile device.

In addition, once you receive the link to the convention’s online home on Nov. 30, we encourage you to run the “system checker” tool in the menu bar before attending your first educational session. The live Table Topics will be hosted on the Zoom digital platform.

As a convenience for attendees, all educational sessions will be recorded and made available on demand for viewing when it is most convenient for you. Much like Netflix, you select the sessions you wish to watch at the time you prefer. On-demand sessions will be available until June 30, 2021.
Table Topics feature casual but highly informative facilitated discussions that draw upon the collective expertise of all participants. During the Virtual Convention, Table Topics will take place live using the Zoom platform and then be archived in the on-demand library of sessions. You will be asked to preregister for the Table Topics you wish to attend, and registration links will be available on the Virtual Convention event online website.
Each of the sessions at the virtual convention – both live and on-demand – provides CE credit. All CE hours are RACE approved. Unlike at past conventions where attendees filled out a single form at the end of the convention, this year, attendees will earn CE for each individual session they attend.

For the on-demand sessions, attendees will answer a short quiz after watching the presentation video. Upon passing the quiz with a score of at least 70%, a CE certificate will be automatically awarded and delivered via email. In addition, a copy of the certificate will reside in the user’s “dashboard” on the convention platform.

For live Prime Time sessions, and for Table Topics, attendees who view the live session will fill out an evaluation form (rather than answer quiz questions) to earn their certificate. After January 4, all sessions will be considered “on-demand” and, per RACE requirements, will require that attendees pass a short exam to earn CE.
